Glad you weren't hurt. I never ride if the ambient temp is below 40 degrees because the road surface in the shade where there's no sunlight to warm the road surface or dry off the dew is crash city. You lean into a turn and the front wheel washes out. Anyone can save a rear wheel traction loss but it your front wheel loose traction as you're on the edge of the tire, down you go. Same thing happens to professional racers. Had a similar loss of the front 2 days ago. Made sure to ride again the next day with what I learned from the first crash. Guess what I learned something and wanted to make sure one miscalculation wouldn't scare me from riding again in a state of fear. No problem on the second ride. $300 parts bill but only fractured a rib and a finger. Sure hurts when I laugh though. Bet it never happens again. I ride for 50 years before it happens to me but if I didn't learn from my mistakes and replay the incident, I'd just repeat the incident. Crashing is never fun even if you can get up and ride home. I'm buying a 1 piece armored suit Scorpion XDR just in case for cold weather.
