What year was the bike?

It's a 2006, factory glossy black (not the matte-black Dark model).

Thanks....allow me to ruminate here....you pretty much got kelly blue book trade-in value...I see NADA has "average retail" for that bike at $2305, NADA really downs the value of that bike versus KBB...looks like you did OK?

I think I did okay, but honestly I wasn't worried about every last dollar. I listed it for what it was worth to me. The buyer is happy, I'm happy, it's all good. Ducati's sell for peanuts around here (ST3S ABS with 11,000 miles was listed on CL today for $4,250, and there's also a 998 available for $6,000). IMO, compared to the cost of a new leftover '14 CB1100 or '14 VFR800, the buyer was crazy for not buying one of those instead. But to your point, I didn't consult KBB or NADA before listing the bike. A couple hundred bucks either way wasn't going to ruin my day.

Good for you. I don't really care what kbb or NADA says about bikes either (what do they really know?) but unfortunately all dealers and much of the buying public does. It's annoying.
For 4-wheel vehicles, I find that NADA does a better job. Oddly enough, kbb seems to get the motorcycle pricing right vs NADA.
Overall, I find the selling market for lots of toys to be harder than I'm used to.
