The Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor is located at the back side of the cylinder, near center, bottom. I replaced mine and it did not solve the idle speed problem. However, unplugging it made the bike run perfect (this is why I replaced it). When unplugged the warning light comes on, and the oil temperature light is on also.

I'd like bet it's the dragging along in slow traffic rather than the heat. That's when mine suffered, in any temp. Most others wth the low idle issue found the same.

I will change oil and change plugs and report back next week. It could be the low idle issue I suppose,but the bike does not stall completely. the idle will stay alive albeit not ideal.

Hi Linux, I had this issue before the high idle issue kicked in. Rarely did the bike actually stall, but the idle would struggle between 500-750 RPM and need revs to keep it alive.
Hopefully the oil/plugs change helps, but keep an eye on it. Could be your IACV going.
