Just had the check engine light coming up without blinking on the way home from work yesterday. Turn ignition switch on, with stop/run switch in run mode, without starting the engine. If ECM has stored DTC, the CEL/MIL will illuminate 0.3 seconds, go off, then start blinking code. If no stored DTC, CEL/MIL will illuminate and stay on until after engine is started, per the FSM. Tuan, where in Vietnam are you located? Thanks SporsterDoc, i've done as said but it just stays illuminated, no blinking. just like you turn on the light and leave it there ![]() i'm going to bring it to service tomorrow for better diagnostics. I live in Vung Tau city, which is 100km east of Ho Chi Minh city. (05-03-2018, 03:52 AM)peterbaron_imp Wrote: Mine is RS 2017 with 27,500km. MIL on when i turn on the key and stay. It's supposed to go away after illuminating for a while but it's now stay illuminated all the way RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - Lord Popgun - 05-03-2018 Assuming you tried to read the DTC correctly (make sure the sidestand is down) it could be a couple of things and may be hard for a non-technician to find. You dealer will connect the HDS (Honda diagnostic system) to the DLC (Data link connector) and read any codes. If the MIL light is on and there are no codes it may be a fault in the MIL circuit. RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - Cormanus - 05-03-2018 popgun, is the DLC the thing the gear indicator pugs into? RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - Lord Popgun - 05-03-2018 Yes it is Cormanus RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - Cormanus - 05-03-2018 Thank you. RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - itstuantran_imp - 05-03-2018 Found the culprit . Oxygen sensor No 1 faulty (RS has 2 sensors) once the tech guy hooked up on his laptop. Replaced the sensor and the CEL gone immediately. Thanks all for the inputs. RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - Lord Popgun - 05-04-2018 RE: Check engine lights up. Not blinking - SportsterDoc - 05-04-2018 A failed #1 O2 should have blinked a 21 DTC: Two 1.3 second blinks and a 0.5 second blink. The gear indicator is fed by y, br, rw, bl, gn wires. Is it different on the 2017? RE: Check engine lights up. No idea but no blinking at all, just stay illuminated. RE: Check engine lights up.
