And the video on yt which explains how and why, notice the small hole in the mounting surface of the tensioner body, some oil pressure and lubrication provided to the tensioner hence the need for the aluminium washer under the adjustment bolt as i understand it;

Or buy this K&L Supply Cam Chain Tensioner Holder on Amazon for $58.66 (9.78 for 6 months). Can't believe the Honda one is $90. Thanks for the DIY option folks Smile

Yea- no need to buy one- I took a piece of scrap metal and a simple metal snip. 2 minutes later...back to work.

You'll also need a magnet tool for pulling the lifter buckets out.

I wrote a Tips & Tricks post awhile back that is still in the Mechanical & Technical section.

Initial DIY service tasks will start with some diagnostic tasks (including honing in on the clicking noise reported on other threads).
Ordered Healtech ODB-H01 Diagnostic Tool from Podium Superbike (an auth dealer) for $229 (free shipping in usa). Also ordered Lisle 52700 Audio Stethoscope Kit for $20. Now Looking at valve adjustment threads (the members on this forum are so awesome) and my service manuals to create list of tools for that task. Smile

Got those several years ago for my xcountry touring tool kit. They really do fit the metric screws better Smile
