Did you also change the oil filter?

I like my oil level to be just a bit below the upper line.

And what quantity do you put including the filter change?

I don't go by quantity. I put in a safe amount, run the engine, let the oil settle and top up as needed. When I'm happy with the level, that's it.

just done my annual service in order to keep the warranty ok; 2019 EX with 3850 km.. they put 3.8 liters of oil (1,004 gallons), and with the cold engine and standing on the center stand, the oil level window is completely full, way over the normale level.. I'm honestly puzzled if they put too much oil.

as I'm puzzled about the cost, for a simple oil and oil filter change: 201 euro (244,37 USD) !!

also, they used 10W-30 oil, which one do you guys use?

Sometimes I changed the oil filter. OEM filter was about $15 Cdn at the time.

I started using Honda GN4 10W30 ($30 Cdn), then Motul 5100 ($53 Cdn) 10W30, but ultimately settled on Shell Rotella T6 5W40 ($45 Cdn). I really liked the Motul and Rotella, at least from the perceived feelin' in the gearbox.

So cost was about $(15+ 45) Cdn + 13% tax DIY.

Two things: I love how little oil my CB burns! And, I'm sure you're safe to use the figures in the manual assuming you drain your oil. (Maybe it's a little anal, but I lean the bike as far as I can both directions when draining the oil. I've posted here how much extra oil I'm able to get out.)

I am attaching the dealer Honda in business in Milan since 1928, maintenance sheet so you can see the costs.
I do the maintenance myself and with € 65.00 oil change, Motul 7100 10w30 and Hiflo oil filter.

yes I saw your post, I believe that the difference between the quantity mentioned in the manual and what you see in the window, is because not all the oil is drained, but most of it remains in the radiator and inside the engine.

I guess today my $67.80 Cdn would be about € 46.05.
