My Bell Zephyr full face was no quieter than my HJC CS-5N open (3/4) helmet.
It also was no warmer in the winter.
Wife and I had Shoei S-20 full faces, purchased in 1976 for $45, each, from a Honda dealer, new! They were good, especially for their time.
I have tried on many full faces and none are comfortable to me, so I have no recommendation, other than a good experience with Shoei.
My 3/4 gives me a wider view, better air flow in 110 + F weather, I can also communicate better and the sun visor is very helpful. Probably not the choice for most and the negative is riding in rain or hail.

I like my '16 Bell Star with Panovision, just received a week ago. Cheek pads are a little thick, so ordered 25mm replacements from Revzilla for 24.99. Should be here tomorrow! Helmet was on sale through Amazon for 339.00. Plenty of skins to choose from.

I just bought the Shoei GT-Air and like it a lot. The air flow over the top of my head is awesome in this Texas weather, and the built in sun visor makes it easy to transition between daytime and evening driving, AND wear my glasses without difficulty...

'16 Bell Star with 25mm cheek pads did the trick!!! Also, ordered the dark tint Panovision shield, love it! Revzilla has a lot of vids to educate on fitment of brands' helmets. Highly recommend.

I have a Shoei- shaped head, although I’ve enjoyed an Arai helmet or two. My current full face is a Shoei X14, and it is comfortable and of high quality. I particularly love the Transitions visor, which darkens and lightens per conditions, and has superb optical quality.
I have a Schubert’s C3 modular, quiet and solid, but after an hour plus, the pressure point on the forehead gets me. I’m about to buy an AGV Sport Modular or a KLIM 1200 modular, both seem to fit my specs.

Is the transitions shield worth the price? It’s almost three times the cost of a standard shield. I wear prescription glasses and have both regular and sunglasses but carrying the extra pair and changing between them can be a pain on a bike. Considering the transitions shield but $170 is tough to justify.

I wear transition glasses , very quickly get darker but not quickly lightens up when entering a dark tunnel.
Are the visors better in this ?

I used to have regular transitions lenses, and I found the same thing--they took a while to lighten up. A few months ago, I got transitions driving glasses. They don't get as dark, but they don't go completely clear, either. The amber coating increases contrast and the polarization decreases glare. They are superb for driving and riding. Plus, the polarization gives my Phone/GPS a funky 3-D effect
I still switch glasses when I ride at night. For changing light conditions on the road, like tunnels and deep shade, they do okay.
