RE: ECU installed - bikerdave_imp - 03-07-2015 Wow. What a thread. I'm gonna have to do this in the future. One of my issues before getting my CB11 was the gutting that Honda had done to this engine. I used to bracket drag race the 83' CB11. It was a blast and to me a great Sport tourer. Thanks guys for all of the info once again. Riding out of town, my initial impressions were that the bike still ran like a watch, smooth. Still nice at low speeds, no change. As the roads opened up and I accelerated a little harder through the gears, I noticed the motor seemed to pull a little stronger as rpm's approached 3k. I had 2 other riders along with me. Pat on a Gold Wing and Lee on an RC51. Both accomplished riders, trophy winning racers. Good company. When Don had called to discuss the state of tune Eric desired, we told him we were leaving the bike completely stock other than the ecu mod. We asked that the revs be raised 500 rpm's, the speed limiter removed and told Don we'd leave the ignition and fuel maps up to him to decide what was best. We ride rather briskly normally, with a group of maybe 10 others, all good riders. We also do several group trips each year, from Florida to the Blue Ridge and back, sometimes hitting Tennesee and Kentucky. Once in a while we head over to Alabama and visit the Barber Motorsports Park. Usually 2200 to 2500 miles, that doesn't include any interstates. This is the most egregious and dangerous example of riding I have ever heard of. Just terrible. Now, where did you say that road was at again? ![]() Seriously, great write-up on the Guhl's reflash. He increased the rev limiter? Don't know if I'd want that on the CB1100 but seeing as Motogeezer sold his bike before it might have put a valve through the top of a piston, no worries, lol! Great bike, that CB1100. All the same I was happy with mine just bouncing off the stock rev and speed limiters.
RE: ECU installed - camoto_imp - 02-16-2018 That's an awful lot of bunched-panties over a 3.5 year old post...

The idea is I seem to be scolding him, and then immediately ask where I can find that road...so I, too, can go out and do my own top speed run. In the movie "Casablanca" Rick's Americain Cafe is shut down by the Vichy French police captain, played by Claude Raines. Just as he is closing the place up and running everyone off, for illegal gambling, the Peter Lorre character runs up to him and says, "Your winnings, sir!" It's that kind of joke. Of course I don't live within 1500 miles of that location so will likely never be in that area. While I am on a roll, why not make a forum rule that every post has a shelf life, like tyres, and after a certain time is automatically deleted. Or anyone who replies to it will be censured.
RE: ECU installed - camoto_imp - 02-16-2018 Well that makes a lot more sense then. Reading sarcasm never really comes through right to me and I missed it. In the Ocala National Forest. It's all fun and games until somebody hits a bear...or an armadillo! The Blackwater is a neat place, "old Florida". RE: ECU installed - laxflash_imp - 04-20-2018 Thanks for all the info! Some of my income tax return will be going to Don for my 2014 white 1100. I already love the bike! RE: ECU installed - Cormanus - 04-20-2018 G’day laxflash. Welcome to the forum. Is your bike a white DLX? RE: ECU installed - Houtman_imp - 04-20-2018 laxflash , you should change your name to taxflash ! |
