Got my trusty Hepco Becker 55 litre top box mounted along with a Plexifairing 3 I bought on fleebay. It is a 8803, action said it was for a 80 something Kaw, I did some research and found out there are many part numbers for this thing but could not see any noticeable difference in them, it was a best offer, I got it for $160 shipped, most others are $220 so I thought I'd gamble.
It is a tight fit like Flynrider posted in another thread but I got it lined up with tight clearance but nothing touches. Did a 40 mile ride yesterday and was very satisfied, I had my heated jacket liner with glove liners plugged in. Was 50 deg, by the time I got to my destination I was hot, the glove liners alone never worked that well in the wind but with the P3 hand guards the liners did their job.
Overall it was near Goldwing fairing as far as wind protection goes. This one is 21" tall from headlight, I'm 5'11" with 30" inseem, wide shoulders and extra thick a$$ so I sit fairly high and just looking over the top. Very little wind noise, no buffeting. The tank bag is a magnetic Givi, perfect secure fit.
Looks great. Maybe some pics outdoors in natural light when you get a chance. Looks like a very eye pleasing as well as functional set up.

I think I see the difference. Yours looks like it's mounted more vertically than mine was, which allows the lowers to clear the turn signals. I tried that, but I couldn't see over the shield. We've got the same inseam, but I'm about 3 inches shorter than you.
The wind protection of the Plexi 3 is excellent. I really noticed the difference on cold mornings after I took it off the CB11 (Brrrr!).
I don't have much in the way of cold weather gear. Never really needed it since I was always behind a Plexi 3 in the winter. I spent some time the other day looking for other shields that might do the trick, but didn't really find anything that provided the same level of coverage. I'm jealous!
So flynrider, sounds like you need to cut an inch or two off the top and mount it more vertically.
A few of us meet at The Grotto in Cave Creek Sunday mornings (typically we start to wander in around 7:30ish and stay an hour or two depending on who shows and the quality of conversation. I can bring a camera and get shots of you ON the bike.
Besides; I keep hearing about other CB's in the Phoenix area but I have yet to see one.

Yep, it seems like that would do the trick. I'm not equipped with anything that will (safely) cut Lexan. I'll have to check with my airplane building pals. They're equipped to trim Lexan canopies, so that should work.
If you have a jig saw/sabre saw a plastic blade will do nicely. The last time I cut lexan was on my Dad's 1973 Ski Doo. Opened up the front cowling cooling vent with a sabre saw (I don't belive I used a special blade, just took it slow) and that was in 1973.
Clean up with mill files and fine sandpaper, call her good.
I've got a nice Bosch sabre saw if you need to borrow a tool. Just picked a Fein Multi-Master tool that needs more work, I bet that would do the job too (the Bosch would be faster).
Here are a few brighter pics. I did have to trim the inner corners of the lowers section, they were close to the fork and would have bottomed on the seal protector/gaiter.
I did some freeway today @ 75 mph and after 60 mph I get the wind on the back effect. But I can blast away from a stop now without sliding off the back, I hate when that happens!
Anyone wanting to try this, remember there are many shapes and part numbers and it is a crap shoot as to how it fits. I was lucky it turned out well.
I cut NS shield down with a jigsaw and a fine metal blade. I sanded it with the palm sander with medium paper and then fine. The job comes out like factory edges. Put masking tape on both sides of the shield in the areas to be cut, then put a piece of 11 x 14 paper from side to side and Mark with a pencil. I measured from the bottom portion of the shield up

I'm down in Chandler so it's about an hour to get there according to google maps. I'm sure I could make it there quicker. Maybe I'll make it one day if I get moving early enough. I don't like to be on the 101 on weekend afternoons in a car much less a motorcycle. I'd love to see some other cb1100s.
