This is somewhat motorcycle related because this involves a friend of mine of over 25 years.

He was on his way into town (Freeport, Il) last Wednesday the 13th of November at 3pm when he apparently had a heart attack while driving and died, with his truck ending up on its side in a ditch. He was not found until 5 or 6AM on the 14th. His son had driven passed him multiple times while out looking for him and never saw his truck in the ditch.

The coroner said that he had an acute case of pneumonia coupled with an enlarged heart (double the normal size) and would have died within a week even without the pneumonia. The worst part about all of this is that EVERYTHING was treatable. His death did not have to happen.

He was 64 years old. He leaves behind a 28 year old son, his significant other and her massively handicapped 25 year old daughter, and 3 dogs.

He was a bit paranoid about the world, but had many friends and was loved by many.

You will be missed my friend.
