I like the Arrow and the sound samples I have heard. However, it's too bad that the Arrow doesn't come with its own heat shield, one that is sized more appropriately.
Since the stock heat shield is stainless steel (without chrome to flake off if flexed), has anyone tried to reform it to better fit the slimmer contours of the Arrow inlet section?

I'm sure you can heat it up with a heat gun to make the shield easier to roll into a smaller size. I thought about it but realized it didn't bother me at all and just left it as is.
Again, I highly recommend the Arrow for those that are looking for a smaller muffler and a nice deep tone without sounding obnoxious. Took about 20 minutes and that was me taking my time.

Very true! I've even left a note on a Harley parked next to me to let the guy know his rear tire looks low on pressure. Never met the guy to this day but doesn't matter. Looking out for other motorcyclists, that's one of many things so great about riding.
Fuzzy's exhaust mod. Three bucks worth of parts from AutoZone and a can of hi-temp black paint. =)
I should note, however, that I recently had to put in a baffle (bought a generic from J&P, sawed it in half and bolted it in) in order to pass Texas inspection. Never used to bother with getting my motorcycles inspected until the recent change which ties registration to inspections. I guess the politicians finally noticed a missing revenue stream after all these years of everyone ignoring inspections.

Wow, really? I thought Texas had the most lenient regulations on everything. Even CA does not require that, and CA is the worst (strict regulations) when it comes to emissions and noise and just about everything!

I agree (thanks!), though I may be a bit biased. There use to be a BMW adventure bike but not sure what happened to him. I also see a triumph Daytona 675 regularly which is pretty cool. And I bring my Tuono V4R to work once or twice a week.
This has all been very helpful in my search for something for Mrs. Santa to come across with this year. I want to keep my centerstand, not be much louder than stock-just smaller, polishedn or chrome and still have the option for bags. Everytime I have it nailed--Arrow, GPR, I see another post and think: " Oh wait a minute what about a ...."
Staintune. I hesitated to buy it because of the cost. I haven't regretted the decision since installing it. Sounds awesome. Looks a lot like the stock and uses the heat plate. Works with the center stand.

As Texas has no state income tax, the state government relies on sales taxes, fines and fees for revenue. Vehicle inspections are one of those fees. While the fuzz have always been pretty diligent about enforcing inspection stickers on automobiles, motorcycles have been pretty much ignored until now. I've owned six motorcycles here and never even bothered with it. In fact, in the past if you went to a shop and asked for an inspection, they'd just look at you funny and say "Really?"
But starting this year, the state government decided to make it so you can't get your yearly registration on any vehicle until you submit a completed inspection report. Which is just an inconvenience, really. I suppose I could find a shop that would simply pencil-whip it, but I've been going to Cycle Sports on Clay Road for years and trust the guys there implicitly. He said I needed to put a baffle into the straight pipe to pass, so I did it. No big deal; just another reason to dislike politicians, (like I needed another one). =)
