Mike,
All un-coated stainless single wall headers will turn bronze after several heat cycles. Single wall chrome headers will rainbow color near the engine where temps are highest. Double wall chrome headers like the Delux has will not discolor as the outer wall does not get hot enough. Single wall stainless headers can be Jet-Hot coated with a chrome or colored finish that will not discolor even under very high temps. Cost is under $200 plus your time to remove and ship your header to them. Here is my Jet Hot coated header which still looks perfect after a year on my bike. Cheers.

Hi Chip,
Do you have to send them a new, unused header or can they coat one that has already been run?

Shinchan,
Send them your existing header. My header was a couple years old when I had it coated. I'm so happy with this mod. That bronze header bugged me from day one. The bike looks so much better now. I hand fabricated the shield that covers the collector and catalytic converter and posted about it in the Forum's "How To" section.

Chip,
I visited the Jet-Hot coating website and completed a form online for seeking a quote:
A few questions to you so that it can help the forum members in the future:
Q1. Per this link
http://www.jet-hot.com/gallery/ did you request 0100 POLISHED as the specific coating? Q2. Jet-Hot says "You will need to remove any chrome on your parts. We cannot remove or apply coatings over chrome" . How did you address this on your exhaust headers? Q3. Per this link
http://www.jet-hot.com/project-estimate there is a question about "What coating are you interested in?" and there are there some options Extreme 1300 / Extreme 2000 /Extreme 2500 / Please advise/ What did you select for your header? Q4. How did you ensure that the inside of the headers are not coated to avoid damaging the CAT?
Thanks..
Q1. Per this link

--Yes, 0100 polished
Q2. Jet-Hot says "You will need to remove any chrome on your parts. We cannot remove or apply coatings over chrome" . How did you address this on your exhaust headers?
--There is no chrome on the 4 into 1 CB1100 header.
Q3. Per this link

--I believe there is only one temperature option for the 0100 polished finish.
Q4. How did you ensure that the inside of the headers are not coated to avoid damaging the CAT?
--Tell them the header is to be coated only on the outside to prevent damage to the catalytic converter and they will put rubber stoppers in all 5 openings. Jet Hot is familiar with this.

I think we should ask about a group rate.

That would be bad for the forum mileage post.
