Just don't tell them. I literally had mine done like 4 months ago.
They can tune but only for track use. There's ways to have it done. Just not posting it public. But if uou're scared of the EPA don't do it.

I have the Konis on mine. Good shocks. 4 way selector for damping. Look close to stock but handle way better.

As promised, I caught the bike in the shop and as I suspected, the 17" wheel fits in the original swingarm, bearing had to be changed and spacer modified, it clears the notch on the chain guard by 3mm literally. The speed sensor is lost though and they are still figuring out what to do about it, most likely he will change the whole instrument cluster and put everything aftermarket. Hope this gives you some insight

If you haven't picked up a used CBR1000R front end and wheels yet, you might look for an ABS model. That will have a speed sensor on the front wheel, so should plug into the harness and solve the speedometer problem.

But it won't show the speed with the front wheel in the air. You wouldn't do that, would you?

in regard to the speedo sensor with the rear wheel swap i retained it by machining a carrier for the sensor ring quite simple

If you want to save weight on wheels, Samurider has these mag wheels which not only look great and are made for the bike, but they do save about 10 lbs of unsprung weight. I think that might be quite significant, and something I have considered for a while. It is the price that has kept me from doing the change...

You are correct Henrik, very nice & ready to install wheels...... not the price tho U$3,500

I think the issue there is theyre still 18" wheels. The stated purpose of all this was to get 17s.

That said, he'll probably spend almost the same amount of money changing to 17s as he would buying those magtans.
