Hello! i am a new owner of a 14 cb1100!!!!
I am wanting to make a custom exhaust that is unequal length headers (with no cat). this is mostly for sound and not too much for power (Although i really would not mind a couple extra HP) and from what i can tell if i make these headers and unplug my o2 sensor it should run okay? maybe a little rich but i wont have too many issues from what i can tell OR do i just weld a "bunghole" for the o2 sensor?

With all this in mind should i get a power commander for it at the same time to try and stabilize the a/f ratio and make it possibly smoother? i am at a loss on what to do and you a bunch of you seem to really know your stuff on here so thanks in advance!!!
Hello howdy and welcome to the forum
Calling Powerdubs!

Welcome and congrats!!
If you want more/ better sound just get a Pipe Master 4 into 4 and you will be VERY happy !
There is no need to have a custom header made- there are a LOT of exhaust options for this bike believe it or not.

There are 4-1, 4-2, 4-4, 4-2-1, 4-2-4 options. Some black, some chrome, some titanium.

You will have to order from overseas and wait- but you would have to wait for custom header anyway.

The cost to have a proper header made- correct lengths, diameter, oil filter access, good welds, good chrome, good fitment... might want to pick an already available option and not risk the quality.

I had a custom sissy bar made for this bike- and had to send it back and have it done again, and it still had issues.

I had a 4-4 made by a supposed reputable exhaust shop for this bike- and the welds look like a 2 year old snuck into the garage while his parents were away and tried welding for the first time- after stopping at the fridge first and downing a 6-pack.

Taking the cat out will always gain a bit of power.

An O2 sensor bypass plug will make even a completely stock bike run better.

A power commander is always the safest thing to do when losing the cat- as it will lean out a bit due to increased airflow.

If you are just wanting sound- why now just do a slip on - much cheaper, easier, and no need to add fuel, but I would still do the O2 sensor bypass plug.
Thank you Powerdubs! I forgot to mention that a good buddie of mine does welding for a living and he will be designing it so i am not too worried about quality and having the ability to go around the oil filter! i also just have not heard many 4 cyl motorcycles have unequal headers and i think it will sound like one of the more unique bikes people have heard!!

Where can i find a o2 sensor bypass plug? And i will order the power commander right away! should i be using the "stock stock" map from the website?

One more question for you i know a lot of people got the speed limiter and rpm raising flashed onto the ECU is that something that now cant be done anymore? or could a local motorcycle tuner be able to do the same thing? thank you again you guys are the most helpful forum I have seen to date!
Welcome bnhanneman. As far as we know, Don Guhl was the only person in the world who has been able to remove the speed and rev limiters from the CB1100’s ECU and he is no longer offering the service. If you manage to find another person who can and will do it, there are members here who would be very interested.
Hey bnhanneman - welcome to the Forum.

What does this '14 CB1100 look like?
Here is the bike next to my old one!
I wonder if Don could / would still remove the speed limiter / rev limiter- as that has NOTHING whatsoever to do with emissions regulations.
