Remember- indicated mph on ANY speedo is not to be trusted. Use a GPS for the real #- bike, car, doesn’t matter
I’ve heard in some countries by law the speedo can’t read lower than actual- so they set them higher on purpose to take into account variations in brand / type of tire changes

Hi All,
Seen a few posts about ECU flash and removal of rev limiter/ speed limits
My bike was not new to me and im not sure if the previous owner had ECU flashed?
If I accelerate in 1st or 2nd or 3rd, can not feel any restrictions in revs untill it red lines at 8.5 or 9K
Or is the limiter applied as a speed limit in higher gears?
Would you remove o2 sensors before flash?
Would aftermarket exhaust like Arrow affect results?
Thanks
Flash is no longer possible since Guhls closed.
Raising the rev limiter was an option and removing the max speed limiter was also an option. I think it would stop at like 120 or 125mph I don't remember but it was annoying haha. I no longer have that as I got flashed years ago.

We can get ECU flashed in UK still :-)

So whats the benefit of power commander and ECU flash? I thought flash was better option ?
At approx 5,000 feet altitude laying as flat as possible on the tank behind a Dart Fly screen with no headwind the non-flashed/stock ECU equipped 2013 CB1100 hit the limiter at 116 mph. This aligns with most comments and data in print Ive seen which stated the limiter was set at 116 mph.

So whats the benefit of power commander and ECU flash? I thought flash was better option ? That might be worth investigating for others if we can ship the ECU overseas in the winter season or something to get it flashed and mailed back

Interesting. My recollection is that the speed limiter is a requirement of Japanese law and is set at 180 kilometres per hour or 111.847 miles per hour. That could well be wrong, of course.
I bought another ECU I got on eBay and had it flashed by Guhl’s years ago. It does have a mid range slight stumble when held at constant speed. Once in awhile…
