I use brass or bronze (can't remember which right now) on mine. Good on guns too and boat stuff. I use that for the reason that Deanohh mentioned.

I didn't know there was stainless steel wool.

Yeah, I did mine. The mothers mag polish worked great on mine. I did use a scotch Brite pad "very lightly" on a few spots. My headers still looking great.
