Full Version: Surging at Idle

I have a 2014 standard with about 4k miles on it and have noticed it will occasionally surge when sitting at idle. I haven't noticed it being specific to a hot or cold engine, it will just randomly happen. Yesterday traffic was heavy and while I was idling at slow speed with the clutch in it was surging. Traffic cleared and I was able to get back up to speed. I came up to a stoplight 10 mins later and it idled fine. That's a typical example. It's not really too annoying but I was curious if anyone else has noticed this or if it's a sign of something needing tuning.
There is a fair amount of discussion on this. Search around and you'll find it. Smile

You might want to do the TPS trick first. Cost nothing and is easy. Here is how--first post: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4028
This sounds different. I've always experienced the slight roughness while riding slowly in first gear below 2K rpm, but mine has always had a rock steady idle.
Yes, I found lots of discussion on the roughness below 2k rpm, but this is while sitting at idle with no throttle applied. It seems like it's not a common thing judging by the lack of replies, but it's also so rare and not really worth it for me to look into unless it gets worse.
