Hey, My new rack comes today. I just did some checking, the 6mm is to small, the 7mm to big. Are those rear allen heads 6.5mm or so? The ones that need to come off to install the rack.

I may have to do a tool run anyway later, just thought I would ask here before I ride to the tool shop and see what fits.

Since they may be tight, I may need a head that will attach to my socket wrench? Thanks.
The ones that come off are the bungie hook ones. They aren't 8mm? The new ones are according to the instructions (for a Honda rack).

I can't check right now as I am not at home. I will later if no one answers first.
If its the bungie hook ones 6mm allen fits mine
I just checked mine. Both the originals and the bolts included with the rack are 6mm.

Sure someone didn't mix up your metric and standard allens?

Like Ferret said, the bungie ones are the ones for a Honda rack install.
Thanks, yes, my Allen wrenches could be out of order, still I go from to small to larger than required. I have another set around I will look for. These are the factory Allen head bolts that come off to attach a rack.

Another update, the package today was my S.W. Motech 'crashbars'. I thought the rack was in the same package but no. This means I have more time to get the correct size Allen tool to remove the bolts.

The S.W. crashbars went on fine, subtle but quality looks excellent.
Item 11 is the bolt we are talking about. Wrong link, have to fix it.

SUCCESS! My bad. Yes, my standards were to high. The 6mm left a bit of wobble, I had expected a tighter fit. My 6mm Allen wrench loosened them all up just fine, then I resnugged until my rack comes. Now I have no need to go on a tool hunt, good since I already have about 3 sets of Allen wrenches from buying them on the road.

Thanks for the assistance, 6mm is correct.
