Rear valve stem has a habit of sticking when I check or fill the rear tire. Anyone change out the core before? Done it years ago on a car, just wondering if I could do it with a plain ol' auto parts core and tool.

Hoping on getting out next month for some rides and liked to fix it myself if possible.
Thanks!
Same as changing any valve stem core.
Thanks Randy, figured so but wanted to be sure since haven't had this issue before

If you plan to remove and replace the valve core anyway, you might want to consider installing some Ride-On Tire Sealant...cheap insurance and balances the tires too!

They provide the valve core tool with the kit, but new cores are up to you.
Update: changed it out without any issue. Hopefully I can get in a good long ride next week.
Word of advice - started running dyna beads in another, lesser quality bike in hopes of a smoother ride. Aware of some problems but thought it was worth the risk.
Checked air pressure - valve at 90 degrees - and dyna beads caused it to stick open! WTF!
Ended up pulling the valve stem - schrader valve - and replacing. Found beads stuck in valve.
Will use ride on or another additive but never dyna beads again.
