Does anyone else have a problem with a high idle RPM on a cold start / cold day (< 55 f) ? My 2017 ex starts with a high idle that normalizes once engine heats up. No biggie but was wondering if this is normal.

What do you call high? What RPM?
Is this not normal , like having the choke on with carb. bikes ?
cars do the same when cold , higher idle for short while and than back to normal .
Anytime I start my CB between April and October it immediately has a higher idle for several minutes before it warms up and settles down.

Between 1500 and 1800, stays high when changing gear and pressing clutch.

It probably is the same thing and is normal.

Mine warms up at about 14000..drops to 12000..then to 1000

If I take off too soon after starting, it will hold the higher rpms for the first mile or so

My 14 does this exactly as well
Yeah, thats normal. As the engine warms up the ECU commands the IACV to change the idle air and the idle speed goes down.

FYI, There is no value for cold idle in the service manual that I can find. Only to warm the engine then check for 1100+- 100rpm with a tach that can read at least 50rpm changes.
Thank you all
