I've searched and can't seem to find this specific issue (only discussion about RPM-specific buzzing).
Basically any time I go over a harsh bump, drop down out of my driveway, etc., there is a pretty loud rattling noise coming from the front portion of the bike.
At first I thought it may have been my tool kit (I have a few extra things in there) above the battery, but the problem persists when riding without it. It could be coming from the dash, but it's hard to isolate when you're at speed with a helmet on, and it does seem to be from somewhere lower.
I can't seem to replicate the noise by banging on anything (gauges, horns, headlight, oil cooler, etc.).
Anyone had this issue? Is this just part of the gauges being soft-mounted?
Maybe one of more connectors in the headlight shell although that hasn't been reported. Buzzing in the shell, including mine, was connectors vibrating against the shell.
Funny we're talking about this. I just picked up an ear infection, and rode to work this morning without ear plugs. I was a little surprised at how many rattles I heard in the old girl.

Yes this post was motivated by a brief ride without earplugs!
There are a ton of wires in the headlight as Popgun mentioned, so worth a look.
Another thing to check- I just put a new headlight on my bike yesterday to replace the scuffed one. As I was just finished button it up my hand brushed against the silver trim ring on the bottom of the actual lens assembly and it made a rattle.
That piece is only bent into place with tabs so you might want to check if it is loose while you open the headlight to foam wrap the hard plastic connectors.
Also, not my find but one member (poss. Frulk??) mentioned about missing rubber pad from the centre stand and hitting frame/rattling when over bumps. Check as well.
I always wear ear plugs , if I do not than I can hear the rocks making a noise in side my brain.

This was my first thought as well. I've noticed this as a source of rattles on other bikes.
I had a rattle in the front end, one of the screws holding the speedo gauge cover had come loose, causing the cover to vibrate against the inside of my screen.
There is nothing worse than phantom rattles!!
My Genesis auto has a little clattering noise that comes from the drive train when it is warming up. It is pretty much universal on this model. Folks write endlessly on forums about it and spend many hours at dealerships trying to sort it out. Me, I just turn up the music a bit and voila! It's gone.
I had a lot of noises coming from the headlight bucket. I put 1/8 inch packing foam around everything and it took care of the problem. Good luck with yours!
