Just roll the grip back, insert 7/8" open end (or for you metric users, 38.4 kilograms)and pound the crap out of it with a mallet.
Easy-peasy. You destroy the retaining clip, but, you aren't putting it back in, are you?
Second pic is the Amazon throttle lock. Kind of a POS. Had to install a hardware store washer to make it work.
Brian, you are missing a lot of very helpful information on this forum. I am pretty sure there are two pins on the end of the weight that you simply compress, or press in, and the weight slides out. There are posts about it on this forum. Maybe yours didn't have them, but I know mine (2013 Standard) does.
Is "Amazon throttle lock" kinda like the "AliExpress throttle lock" in terms of quality? Maybe the same thing?

I've seen that method before, but this is easier.
1-Shove the open end between the grip and bar end.
2-Hit once or twice with heavy mallet.
3- Pop goes the weasel!

Probably. The Kaoko is much more expensive, but much superior quality. years ago, I had a Throttlemeister on my ST1300. THAT is what I really want. Too bad they are out of business.
I'm going to try this one out for awhile. I hope I don't end up regretting the purchase and buying something better.
"Buy once, cry once" I need to heed my own advice.
I use the Kaoka and I am happy with its predictable functionality. Seems indeed reliable.
I have that throttle lock its junk threads are cut the wrong way and doesn't hold the throttle like it should
