We bought me the CB1100 this year for Christmas. But had to purchase and restore a 1960 camp trailer, as my wife's gift, as part of the deal. Good all the way around!

Ditto for me! Well at least the wife didn't kill me since she told me I "needed to ride a smaller bike" ..... so I downsized myself from a CTX1300 to fulfill her wishes.

Congrats on your new ride. I viewed a lot of Youtube reviews and videos of the CTX1300 and was impressed... then I sat on one. Still a beautiful bike but it felt HUGE.

I'm still trying to figure out why Honda took the ST1300 engine, which makes, I think, around 125hp and cut it back so much for the CTX.

Supposedly the torque was offsetting the higher HP, but having that extra HP would have been nice. I have to admit by detuning they really under-stressed an already bullet proof engine so maybe they were thinking it would last even longer than in the ST1300. Dunno.
When I started looking at the CB1100 again I checked the specs and the 1100 isn't that far off from the HP/Torque figures of the V-4 1300. Being a couple hundred pounds lighter and that's why the CB1100 seemed to have more torque right off idle when I first switched to the CTX1300 and was getting used to the clutch feel off idle.
Had to modify a Goldwing clutch lever to have the adjustable lever (like the CB1100 has stock) in order to get the clutch friction point to feel right.

I don't understand why Honda replaced the ST1300.

they didnt replace it, the st1300 is still being sold new...

Riko, not in the U.S. unless it's a 4 year old left over. I think 2012 was the last model year sold here new.
