Ok, now that the bambinos are a little older I'm getting out on the bikes more.. Primarily, more fun stuff so that means the CB Banana

However, I have some questions concerning the stance of the CB.. As far as I can tell the bike is stock in terms of setup (I know a previous owner put low bars and then went back to stock)..

For around town blasting it's great. But I got it into some twisties this weekend.. I notice that in switchbacks i.e. quick transitions from side to side (left to right or vise versa) that the front feels a little loose.. Not bad as it's predictable, but I think it could be better

I know the CB has decent tires, but not sportbike tires for road stick, but I'm fairly certain it's not the case.. I don't remember the shock settings on the rear, I know I have em stiff, but not all the way..

I'm considering putting slightly lower bars, to put a little more weight on the front wheel, and maybe a fork brace just in case it's from some fork flex.. However, before I start tinkering, I'm curious to what other have found for setups..

Thanks in advance
Air pressure? Plays a big role. Front suspension adjusts some. Decent thread on the forum somewhere about setting up the suspension that I found helpful.
Tighten up rear also, less compression. I ride the twisties daily. Bikes not real comfortable on gravel roads but I haven't had much of a complaint in the mountains on some tight roads.
Agree with the above but at the end of the day, it's all relative, right? The CB acquits itself reasonably well in the twisties but it's not a sports bike -- it's not even a sporty bike -- and it's heavy and has budget suspension. So, recognize that it has its limitations. Mine has a fork brace and the bike isn't exactly a scalpel in the twisties.
And here is the suspension setup thread in the How to section: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....ion+set+up

Thx missed that, so that's a starting point
A Bridgestone T30 front tire properly inflated and the fork adjusters screwed in will help.
I also changed fork oil to one grade heavier when a fork seal started to leak and had to be replaced.

Man, I like how the CB stands out in that cookie cutter crowd...kinda like Sean Connery at a hipster bar....Class NEVER goes out of style...

No worries, I didn't either. I enjoy the heck out of mine!

Add some preload on the front, maybe a half turn at a time and see how you like it. I didn't like the stock settings on mine (I described it as "floaty") and ended up with a full turn of extra preload.
