I just got a NEW 2013 CB1100 and in the first 80 miles I have noticed the low rpm stumble I have read about here on the forum. I tried the throttle reset procedure, but that did not work. I was wondering how many here opted to buy a 02 sensor eliminator to cure the problem?
I was also wondering if Honda has done anything for those that had this issue while under warranty? Did Honda have a cure or did they say it was characteristic of the bike?
Thanks for your response.
I did the O2 elimination thing and felt like it smoothed things out. I don't think it's a problem with the bike, just the nature of pollution controls. Anyhow, I'd just ride it for a while before making changes. Then you will have a better feel for wrong vs. different.
Congrats on the bike!

Thanks! But I can tell it is wrong, pulling out in traffic and having to feather the clutch to get going was enough for me to question the issue. I thought maybe it was old gas in a three year old bike, but I put fresh fuel in and it still performs poorly at low rpm.

That sounds like a different issue from anything I experienced. Sorry not to be more help.
I dont have the issue that I am aware of, but I can tell you I don't have to feather the clutch in traffic. Seeing how this bike is brand new for you, maybe you can get with another forum member and either you try his bike or he try your bike to see if there is really an issue.
As far as the problem goes I don't think it has been enough of an issue for anyone to seek a warranty solution to the problem, and those who have changed to the 02 eliminator from threads I have read, seem to say " I think it feels better" more than " WOW it feels total different and so much better" so I think the change is subtle, rather than eye opening.
At any rate, for you, I would check with the dealership and see if the bike set in the showroom for 3 years with gas in it. If it has I would drain the gas, replace with fresh and add 4 or 5 ounces of Seafoam and run several tanks like that thru it. You might have gummed up injectors. ( just a guess)
At any rate I understand the 02 eliminator is not expensive, but personally I would check other avenues first.

It's no secret that my vote is for: "WOW it feels totally different and so much better" with the 02 Sensor Eliminator Plug.
I didn't think that I had any real issues before installation, but afterwards was like night and day.
I will, however, add this disclaimer: "results may vary from bike to bike".
For only $20, I've spent much more for accessories that didn't provide results ranging from at least "subtle" to "spectacular".
The only time I've had to feather the clutch is when I forget to shift down to first at a stoplight.
I would do the seafoam treatment as ferret suggested.

Yea I probably should have said some have reported better results than others. Heck for $20 its certainly worth a try if you are having stumbling issues.
My guess would be that there is something else causing the problem. My bike has always been easy to get moving from a stop even before I installed the O2 sensor eliminator. Main difference the eliminator plug made was smoother running at low speed and steady throttle. Maybe the TPS or some other sensor is the culprit.
I waited a year before trying the O2 eliminator, bought it in a weak moment but $20 wasn't going to bust the budget.
Yeah. I think it helped - so therefore it did. But I wasn't really experiencing any noticeable problems either.
If you are having so issues I'd dress them before the O2 eliminator, don't know how that would affect your warranty.
