VLJ, just saw your post here. I got your PM on the FZ09 board, but I never heard back from you. With that said, in reading the various posts here, I think you've gotten more information that I would have been able to give you. If you look through my post history (here), you'll see where I posted my thoughts after riding a 2014 CB before I bought the XSR (that I've now traded for a T120).
Some points that might be helpful now that I've ridden 500 miles on the Triumph though...
Definitely more leg room on the T120. I'm 6'3" and remember that I was a bit more compact on the CB.
I can't compare the power between the Triumph and the Honda as it's been so long, but I'm learning how to ride the T120 and it's got plenty of power (and I still haven't gone above 5,000 RPMs). I honestly think that if you know how to ride the Honda, it will have plenty of power too.
Handling on the Triumph is good, but, once again, I can't compare it to the CB as it's been too long and I'm much better at cornering now than I was 1.5 years ago.
Lastly, with my size 13 feet, the Triumph fits me better (I double checked the CB before I bought the T120 and my heels hit the supports for the passenger pegs).
Honestly, in reading all your posts, it sounds like you really want to find a reason to buy the CB. And, heck, you almost did. I honestly think either bike would be great! I think the biggest thing question would be are you going to be happy giving up that sweet motor in the XSR. I know I still feel a bit of a twinge in my heart every time I'm at the Triumph dealership and see my sweet XSR still sitting there.
Good luck with your decision and I hope you are able to get a test ride in! Heck, as of a couple weeks ago (I've been on vacation), there were 2 2014's in Dallas at 2 different dealerships and I know both of them would have been more than happy to let you test ride them! One was used and they were asking close to $7 or $8k. The other was new and they wanted $6k.
