Have you been in conversation with my wife lately, j3gq? LOL
Here's part of the answer:

I was exactly one mile from my driveway.
I thought I was fairly clear about why I didn't go straight home, but maybe I was less clear on why I didn't stop before the crash. I think the answer might be because I hadn't crashed. I assumed that since I had made it about 4 miles in this crap, I could make it another mile. I was, of course, wrong, and you are, of course, correct and I should have stopped someplace. It was poor decision-making on my part which is why I got "the look" from my wife. Again, I thought it was clear in my post that I made a few bad decisions Tuesday and trying to finish that last mile on two wheels was one of them.
Oh and I would have just called my wife, no need to spend money on a cab or Uber.

In my case it was like MTC said.. I had already made it 3 miles in the crap, figured I could make the last 3 miles. In my case it worked out.
Empty Sea , I hope that you still have a wife to call when something like this happens again......

Yes. We got rid of our landline so I can reach her by cell no matter where she decides to live. Lol
Later I’ll post the text of the letter Mrs EmptySea has sent to forum members setting out the advice we should give you.

Dang Sea, I know too well what an accident like yours is like. Were you checked out by a doctor? Medical Doctor I mean, a Psychologists is optional.

Heal up soon.
Suhawk. I’m really fine. I have full range of motion of my leg and shoulders and no headaches, dizziness, or blurred vision. I was dumb to get caught out there, but at least I had enough sense to go slow—probably contributed greatly to the minor injury. Appreciate the concern, though. Thanks for that. Happy New Year!

She wanted to know if any of us know of a good divorce lawyer.....
Sorry MTC....I did enjoy all of your cold snowy pictures....thanks for sharing them!
I've always said, when (not if) I go down I just hope it's my fault (bad decision) and not someone, something (mechanical) else that does it.
