Even tho they were a pain to get to grip (Bud) (the bar clamps) to the rescue, I love the slight drop for my hands. I also chose not to put the bar ends on. Seems a little sportier now...
yep, I used a very thin aluminum tube and cut a small section to snug up the bars. Beer can would work just the same.
I also used some nylon spacers for the switches on each side.
I hate doing backyard fixes like that but it works just fine and there's no sign of any of it.
So Just to be clear... The Renthal 7/8ths bars fit the clamps just fine... It's the cheapy bars that required the "backyard fixes"?

nope, 7/8 is slightly small. I didn't measure but I bet the stock bars are metric.
any 7/8 bar will reqiure a fix.
You might try Rizoma bars. They are made in metric sizes and have a bunch of different bends to choose from

you can also get a set of adapters for the conical style bars for more bend styles and options
I decided to try a set of the Daytona bars. I looked at a set of their bars at a local shop and quality seems decent and Superstores price is good. I just got the shipping notice in my inbox.
I guess I better go have a beer or two and gt ready.
