Most likely a gasket at the attachment point. If you use the original light it has it's own damper. I'm going led so not as concerned about vibration.

it is looking good!!! How are the chances of getting a top down photo? I am trying to get a grasp of looks. How sturdy is the extension? I am asking as it looks like it might be back far enough behind the seat and maybe a bar from one side to the other for added stability?? Or am I reaching there....

No bar required. It's aluminum. Super light. And it tightens to the rail nice and firm. May add a tab to insert into the rail where there is a slot to eliminate swing. But need to set the angle fixed for that. Some may want the extension level to ground. Some may want to flow with the angle of the rail slightly upward. So may or may not do a tab. It's all super light. Looking for top down pic
