Greetings all, I need to ask those folks that have already installed a Road Comet bullet cowl on a 2013 CB1100. I'm having trouble understanding the single fastener drawing that come with the unit. I can't get the bottom fastener to line up with the cowl. I've replaced the headlamp screws with the supplied ones and I think I've got the bottom center fastener bracket installed right. I've installed the "L" bracket on the dual horn center screw. It's a "dome" nut on a stud. It seems the cowl sits about an inch forward of the mounting hole on the "L" bracket.

Can anyone help or has anyone found a real set of installation instructions.

Thanks to all for your time.

If you already tightened the headlight bolts, there's your problem. If you loosen, but not remove, the headlight bolts, can't you then pivot the cowl "down" to where the hole lines up with the bracket? Loosely fit everything together, THEN tighten everything. Don't overtighten the lower bolt and nut.

And the top of the L bracket is facing forward, right?
VW, The bolts holding the headlamp are tight but the screws that hold the faring are loose. Maybe I need to loosen them more and see how it fits.

I mounted the "L" bracket where the captive nut is facing up to recieve the fastener that goes thru the cowl from the bottom. I'm fairly sure thats right.

Thanks for the reply. I'll work it again this evening.

Same thing happened to me when I installed mine. After attempting every possible way to install it, I came to the conclusion the L bracket was the wrong one. Went to Home Depot and bought a longer bracket. Simple fix.
Installed. I loosened everything and was able to get it seated correctly.

thanks to all for your replies.

Good Rides, SeaFlea.
