2014 CB1100 Deluxe:
I've been chasing a problem with my gauges showing I have no oil pressure (I do 70-80PSI), Neutral light always on and Oil Temp light always on.
I researched the service manual and also replaced all 3 sensors and wire which connects all three of these sensors.
My question is how do these sensors really get the information to the ECM and gauges? There is just one common wire harness that connects these 3 sensors.
How does the "Magic" connection work if there is no wire connecting these sensors to the ECM directly? See attached photos.

On Saturday, we went to the Honda Collection Hall at their headquarters building in Torrance. I hadn't been there since I last attended a focus group around 11 years ago, looking at prototypes of what would become the current generation of Rebel motorcycles. They started hosting Cars and Coffee events four times a year, and open their Collection Hall museum. Normally the museum is open during business hours on weekdays, so not an easy place to visit.

Mrs. G and I drove in our CRV to show some Honda spirit, and we joined up with one of my fellow Petersen docents and his family. The first things that greeted us were giant Honda inflatables, which I found fun and fascinating.
We made our way to the indoor Collection Hall to see what was on display before walking the rows of cars and bikes that came for the show, and it was weird to see a row of different generations of Accords lined up in the courtyard outside. I walked past them at first, because when would you stop to look at an Accord. That is until I realized that these were their museum cars, and were in pristine condition.

The museum was pretty cool, and fulfilled a desire to see it. They have a timeline of Honda's history, with several models of Honda cars and motorcycles. Of course, the key bikes, like the CB750 are there. The MB5 was the cool bike to have when I was in high school, and I mused that the Interceptor was the reason my Enfield is called an "INT650" here in the U.S.
If you're in the area on a weekday and have a chance to check it out, it's worth the trip. For reference if you're visiting, it's about 30-40 minutes from LAX depending on traffic.

As for the show, it was heavily Honda as you can imagine, with every model represented. There was one row of motorcycles and all brands were welcome, but most were Hondas. Two elderly gentlemen brought CBXs, and I was hovering when they mounted them and fired them up to leave. I commented to one of them that his bike looked awesome. He said "The nice one is inside", to which I replied that I thought the nicer ones were those outside, that these two were actually enjoying.

Amazingy, there were no CB1100s. I will have to bring mine next time, to see if gets much attention. They host four of these cars and coffee events a year, so it won't be a long wait!

My own test with the bike on its centerstand spinning the front wheel while pressing the rear brake pedal and spinning the rear wheel while squeezing the front brake lever tells me that either the brakes are not linked, or that I'm bad at this test: as far as I can tell, neither wheel's spin is affected at all when applying the other wheel's brake.

So, while the 2014 Deluxe DOES have ABS, the front and rear brakes are NOT linked?

Hoping someone can definitely confirm or deny.

I bought a 2014 CB1100 DLX a few months ago and quickly realized the original owner replaced the original handlebars with lowered replacements, They dd not install the weights and they are too low and vibrate too much for my liking.
Do any of you have an original set for sale for a 2013-14 CB1100 ?

Why My CB1100EX Will Last Far Longer Than Me

We all know the engineering, manufacturing, materials, and quality control that Mitsuyoshi Kohama used to build a motorcycle "that defies logic and just demands to be ridden." All CB1100 models adhere to this guiding principle. My 2017 CB1100EX is no exception. But as I approach my motorcycle's 10-year birthday, I find myself immersed in an engineering analysis bordering on obsession. I feel a kinship with Kohama and an obligation to the next owner of my motorcycle not only to maintain it but also to ensure its future.

The core of the bike — that air-cooled inline four — is arguably one of the most durable engine architectures ever used in a motorcycle. Air-cooled engines have fewer failure points than liquid-cooled ones: no water pump to fail, no radiator to corrode, no coolant hoses to deteriorate, and no head gasket sealing coolant passages. The CB1100EX engine is under-stressed by modern standards, producing modest power from a large displacement. That's exactly the recipe for extreme longevity. Honda's metallurgy in the cylinder bores, cranks, and transmission gears is excellent, and there's nothing in that engine that can't be rebuilt or re-machined.

The steel double-cradle frame is simple, robust, and repairable. Unlike aluminum frames that are difficult to weld without specialized equipment, a steel frame can be straightened, repaired, or reinforced by any competent fabricator indefinitely.

The wire-spoke wheels on the EX are another longevity advantage — individual spokes can be replaced, rims can be re-laced, and hubs can be refurbished. All good there.

Despite having earned the highest reliability rating possible, electrical components such as the fuel injection system, ECU, sensors, wiring harness connectors, ABS module, instrument cluster, etc., pose a long-term vulnerability for my CB1100EX. When those parts fail, they simply must be replaced. Although Honda sold the CB1100 in the United States for only three years, it had a much longer run in Australia, Europe, and Japan. Parts remain available. Capacitors on circuit boards degrade whether the bike runs or not. Storing critical spares in a humidity-controlled environment is a reasonable precaution. These parts had finite production runs and do not share many components with Honda's current motorcycle line. And with the help of my friends at Webike, I have started building a spare inventory for those parts I cannot source from my local motorcycle shop. It is manageable.

Rubber and plastic components — seals, gaskets, bushings, intake boots, body panels — all have finite lifespans and must be preserved or replaced with hardened alternatives. That said, new manufacturing capabilities catering to motorcycle preservationists are making replacement options increasingly available.

By choosing air cooling, a simple steel frame, wire wheels, and a conventional layout, Kohama made a bike that's inherently more rebuildable and sustainable than most modern motorcycles. I want my motorcycle to be ridden for 100 years. With some planning and help from the great people I have engaged and this Forum, I believe that goal is possible. Many original Honda CB750s are still running today. And with all due respect to arguably the most important motorcycle ever built, the CB1100 is better engineered and is made with far better materials. Until you tell me to stop, I plan to share how I go about extending the life of my motorcycle. I am not advocating that you do the same, but I do hope you will assist me even if you find it foolish. Thanks in advance for the assist.

My continuing gratitude to everyone to everyone on the forum for your support of my participation in the Los Angeles DGR! This was my first L.A. ride since 2015. I love to support my home county, OC, but the ride was getting too large for its organizers. I had been chatting with one of the L.A. ride hosts, and he convinced me that their ride, while quite a bit larger, had more organization with full escorts and controlled intersection crossings. Where OC posts the ride map a week or so ahead of time, the LA ride doesn't announce the route at all. With full traffic control, they make it a surprise for the riders. At first I was dubious, but 15 escorts provided full protection and kept the group together.

A total of 472 riders participated. Of my modern classics, I could have taken my Enfield Interceptor, and joined the two others that participated. I could have taken my black Bonneville, and been one of countless other black Bonnevilles. I took my CB1100, and out of 472 bikes, had the only one on the ride. When I arrived at the gathering site, I rode up to a tent with three volunteers checking the riders in. The guy checking me in commented to the others about my bike... "Hey, you guys ever seen a CB1100? Smoothest running, shifting bike Honda ever made!" I had to agree with him. He also commented "Hey, congratulations on being a top-50 donor!" That was very cool to learn!

All kinds of bikes showed up, even a group of Filipino sidecar jitneys - these had so much detail in them that it was difficult to see everything at once in them.

It was a great scene, and I made all kinds of new friends. When the ride kicked off, We were away, riding two-by-two. I ended up right behind a Ural sidecar rig that was decked out with a very dapper couple holding a dog. One of the ride photographers was in front of them, in another Ural sidecar facing back, snapping away at the cute couple with the dog. I must have ended up in the background of plenty of pictures.

The ride started from a college next to the Santa Monica Airport, and wove through many of the highlights on the west side of L.A. including Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the Santa Monica Pier, Venice and the Venice canals.
Always a good time, though!

Today was day 1 of the season for me. Weather predicted to be sunny and with high 69. I gave it a good clean this morning and set off for work. I realised I left my wallet home when I stopped for air and fuel. No worries. Paid using the phone and turned back for the wallet.

I can do my meetings from my car but not on my bike so it was imp I reach office well in time. I reached home and in my hurry I got off without putting the side stand and it dropped!!

I was devastated. Clutch lever snapped, two small scratches on the exhaust and nick to the engine guard. I will check again to see if there is any more damage. Damage to the exhaust pained me the most - barely noticable but I know they're there.

I need to replace clutch lever before I get back on the saddle. Where can I get OEM parts? I tried honda website and it doesnt even list the model - 2017 Honda CB1100 EX.

Thanks for your help!

I spend a lot of time poking around FB Marketplace. Mostly looking at stuff I have no need to buy, like $25k perfect time-capsule Fox Body Mustangs. I also look at CB1100s, to track prices, see what people are asking, and to see what mods are on the bikes for sale.

I saw this 2014 this morning, and thought "Wow, that price is pretty low!"
Till I noticed that the mileage is 174,000. And the guy says "yes, the mileage is accurate".
Also claims it still runs great. That is quite a testament to this bike!

Does it belong to anyone here?
