Exhaust options
#1

My KSY exhaust has a clearance problem on the RHS - it drags well before the foot pegs are near the ground and now almost worn through. I've read that a few other exhaust systems also have the same problem. Wondering if anyone has resolved the problem and/or if there is an aftermarket 4 into 1 system out there that has enough clearance. Appreciate any tips.

I ran into this problem on my RYUJIN aftermarket full exhaust as well and ended up going back to the stock header/cat and installing an arrow slip on and have been very happy.

I think most of the aftermarket exhausts have clearance issues on hard right turns. I know the Yoshimura does. I heard rumors that you can add the header that Arrow makes for a full system and it does not have clearance issues - but I can't confirm this from direct experience. I've been very pleased with the performance/sound/look of the arrow slip on and no longer feel the need for further modification.

I have the arrow full system and I love the performance/ look. I've never had any clearance issues. I may not ride quite as aggressive as you.

you must be talking about the yoshi slip on because the RCSV does not... I can promise you that

I have leaning issues with my exhaust, I have a yoshi hand bent straight pipe and if I lean to the right the bottom pipes and collector seem to scrape not so much on the left side though...

I also have the yoshi rcsv on my 14 and have had no clearance or scraping issues! I'm not a real hard leaner when I ride but I have cleared some pretty good size speed bumps with no problems. And contrary to some belief my oil filter has plenty of clearance when changing oil!

Add some preload to your suspension. That should give you some clearance.

I solved my Yosh full system pipe dragging proclivity by going to a 160/60 rear tire. A BS T30. The wider profile gave me more clearance when leaned.
Handles great too.

Thanks folks for all the advice. My preload is wound up to near maximum which does help a little and the wider rear tyre is definitely an option. A bit disappointing that some of these exhaust manufacturers can't build a system to meet the bike's capability which is way beyond my capability Angry. Just looks like the header pipes and collector need to moved under the bike by an inch and we'd have all the clearance needed. Below is a picture of the scraped section which is on the lowest header pipe and where the collector joins, there's still a few miles left in it yet.

you mustve been riding on a perfect curve with a weird camber or something. I have 0 chicken strips on my tires and lean pretty far and have never had issue...

hmm strange...
