Air pod filters

Hi fellas, I've done a search on the threads but could not find anything about the following. I stumbled on this pic and really like the exposed air pod filters. According to my research these filters fit on the carburetor (4x in total). Can anyone tell me what dimensions they are ? I found some K&N ones but really have no idea where to start on the dimensions. Also I would appreciate to what impact this change will do the bike performance. I obviously really like the aesthetic look!

Hey Domenaxe,

I modded my Air Box with the TSR Air Funnels. It's a fair bit of work to remove the Air box and Throttle bodies. Not difficult but quite a bit of work. You really need the Workshop manual. The TSR Air Funnel Kit, available from Samurider, might be a way of fitting the pods to the throttle bodies. It could save you getting a piece machined. You'd have to adapt them but a good place to start.

I had fancied just leaving the funnels only, all exposed with no filters, on the Throttle Bodies. You could fit a mesh screens to protect the engine to some degree, but I thought better of it.

I too love the clean look, but I have had fuelling issues when I've done this on other bikes. Not sure how motogeezer has faired. To be fair, I've always done this on Carb'd bikes, never an injection. It would be interesting to know how well this set up works.

There are power benefits but trying to get smooth carberation thru the the whole range can be tricky with all the turbulent air and pressure changes around the pods. It can be a PITA if you want a smooth running bike.... looks good tho ;-)

You also run the risk of having water go directly into the motor if you ride in a rain shower. My old CB750C had that issue. It ran perfect in dry weather but would stall and run poorly in the rain.
