I took this bike out for a demo ride back in July, one of the most uncomfortable bikes I've ever ridden. I felt like I was riding on a washboard with absolutely no suspension.

Ferret -

Very enjoyable review. I sold my 2010 Bonneville SE for the CB, and the review really rings true. It was a fun bike that attracted a lot of attention (just don't metion it's made in Thailand) but everything in the video was so true.

I too owned one, although it was the 790 carbed version. Like all bikes I've owned ( including the CB 1100) I wasn't that disappointed with the suspension, but the review of the brakes rang true for me, and the power was lacking a bit, the exhaust note was woefully weak, and the seat was kind of thin and hard. Still, it was a very enjoyable bike to own and ride. Given the opportunity I'd gladly own another. It definitly garnered attention where ever I rode it.

The point being, the traditional styling sells a bunch of these even with a multitude of glaring faults. You'd think the other Japanese mfgs would recognize this and come out with models of their own..maybe a 903 Style Kaw, a GS 1100 styled Suzuki, or a XS 1100 styled Yamaha.

Great review. Gave me a good laugh. Thought about getting A Bonneville but chose the CB1100 instead.

Thanks Ferret,

Enjoyed it,

Parked my CB next to a white and purple Bonnie at the motorcycle gear shop yesterday, several old farts like myself came over for a look-see.

The Bonnie is a good looking bike, but next to the CB it had sort of a plastic look, I would not call it "cheap", because it definitely is not a cheap bike, but the Honda has a much better finish.

Love my CB!

I watched the video and thought it both very entertaining and pretty accurate. I own a CB1100 and a Sportster Custom and a Bonnie SE.

I like them all but I honestly like the Bonnie best only because it fits my size and riding style best.

I've had no quality issues with any of them. I have upgraded the Bonnie and have done exhaust and suspension and seat and the bike has plenty of power for me. I don't ride double or for long distances.

None of the bikes are long distance runners. Just had a fellow PM me about the CB and the sportster and my suggestion is to buy a used Bonnie SE and do the upgrades. But told him he should consider all of them before buying because individual preferences would easily tip a buyer to one or the other of the three. No bad ones here. Honda has sold on quality and all I can say there is yes but the gap has closed significantly over the years. Cars and bikes. My chevy cars and trucks are the equal to any Honda or Toyota and I couldn't have said that 20 years ago.
