I stumbled upon this on Cycle World Magazine's YouTube page. It's a promotional film from Honda featuring the King of Cool himself, Steve McQueen. Lots of great desert riding action. Not surprisingly, it has a similar vibe as On Any Sunday. Anyway, I figured a few of y'all might like to see this.

Wonderful video undecider. McQueen truly was the King of Cool and a fine spokesman for our sport. Thanks for a post that brought a flood of memories back of "the good old days".
The Honda Elsinore was quite the sensation when it appeared on the scene as a competitive Japanese alternative to the CZ's, Husky's and other Euro makes that had dominated motocross. A friend to my brother bought one of the first to arrive at our local Honda dealer and he and Gary spent the next weekend "breaking" it in. What a great bike. It looked fast standing still.

Cool video

McQueen's story is truly one of rags to riches and he left us all too soon.
But he packed a lifetime of living into those years and was only one of a handful of Hollywood idols who didn't just talk the talk.
Other stars rode bikes and raced cars, but McQueen was head and shoulders above any of them.

Awesome video, thanks for posting. The '73 Elsinore was a ground-breaking bike when it was introduced, even more so that it was a Honda, as Honda was a "four stroke" company at the time. I was a kid back then and was on my way to the Honda dealer with my dad to buy a '73 XR75 when we decided to stop at the Hodaka shop along the way. An hour later, I was the proud owner of a Super Rat. In hindsight, we should have gotten back in the car and bought the XR75!
