Cool! I still want an M1030. It's the USMC version of the KLR. It has a Diesel motor (which can also burn JP8.) You could get to some pretty remote places on 90 miles per gallon.

Yeah it's something like 400 miles to the tank. The problem is that the KLR isn't a Kawasaki engine anymore ... It's a HDT - which is Hayes Diversified Tech.. The main deal is that due to all the reworking, it was around 17K new.. So if they do appear on a military site - it's around 10K for something with some miles..

It's also my understanding that HDT got out of the military bike market and only does R&D... You can get a new KLR body style that is a diesel .. I will have to look up the company, but it's like 15k new....

The CB is considered a retro bike, wonder how long before gas burners are considered retro?

Love the concept of electric bikes and it looks like the technology is rapidly improving. An electric dual sport - best of both worlds and quiet.
