These pictures are when we lived in Endwell Upstate NY. I had 5 CBX's but one 1979 had only 365 miles on it and I did not put it on the road. The other 4 were silver and red 1979 and red and black 1980. The 1980 red CBX had the very first Pipe Master 6 into 6 sold in the USA and came from Australia , beautiful made and sounding stainless steel pipes AND I could retain the center stand. We had a very active CBX Club in the North East with 3 or 4 rallies every year . In the winter we had tech rallies in good hotels and we always ate in good restaurants. I remember a 1995 Rally in New Hampshire when we had 20 CBX's on Interstate 89 riding two abreast in the left lane riding at 95-100 mph for about 15 miles, the sound of all these CBX's was unbelievable , no State Troopers in sight !
I sold the silver 79 and black 80 when we moved to NC and just took the red 79 and 80 with me. In NC I bought a 1994 and 1995 CB 1000 and when the CB 1100's came out I sold my last CBX 's , one of them went all the way to Australia via Ebay.
Do I regret selling some of my bikes :Yes but if the next bike is as good or better than there is no regret and I had CBX"s for over 25 years and now LOVE my CB 1100's !!! The only bike I did not regret selling was my RC 51 , as I was getting older the ergo's just did not fit me any longer.
Once again I have to say a big THANK YOU to Cormanus for being so kind as to post the pictures for me , without my wife or him there would not be pictures from me on the Forum !

Thanks Houtman. It was a rare treat seeing multiple CBXs side-by-side.

Great collection of CBX Houtman

You are correct on the exhaust sound they produced are unique.
I don't missed mine anymore (Red 79 and Pearl White 82) - they were getting a bit too top heavy and CB1100 is a perfect replacement for now.
Regards
Alain

I had a funny CBX sighting yesterday. My wife and I have been watching Itchy Boots videos on YouTube. Noraly rides a Royal Enfield Himalayan through Asia, the Middle East and Europe in her first season, and in South America in the second season. My wife has really enjoyed watching her videos and asks me questions about the Enfield. Which, I must say, is one heck of a durable bike.
There's a dealer nearby that sells Triumph, Ducati and Royal Enfield. I wanted to rummage through some of the Triumph clearance parts, so we stopped by. Since there was a Himalayan in the Enfield part of the showroom, I pointed it out to my wife and said "Look, it's the bike that Noraly rides in the videos!"
She glanced at it, but turned to the bike next to it, a red CBX, which is in the dealership owner's collection. "Honey, that looks just like your Honda! Is it the same one?" I told her to count the pipes on the engine. Just a few more than mine has...
