Hi ya fellas,
Been a minute since I've posted, thought I would share a pic of my new scooter. Still have the CB1100, would have a hard time ever parting with her, but nobody ever said you can't have more than one bike. Just picked up a '22 Duc Multistrada V4S. bike has side Panniers and Top Case, although off for the photo.
Never thought I would get into the "Adventure bike" segment, personally always thought they were a tad on the ugly side. Then I test rode one on a whim and was hooked. Super comfy ergos, loaded with cool tech, handles like a dream, 170hp flat out gets it...lovin' it now. It will be great for longer rides for wifey and me, will reserve the CB for shorter rides by myself.
Any other adv bike riders here?
Cheers!

There are no pretty ADV bikes.
But they do fill the bill for a certain need in a ride.
I would say that Ducati is on the better half of ugly. Congratulations Phadreus!

I think the thing I'm most impressed with is that the bike does everything I want extremely well, no weaknesses or shortcomings (other than the initial cost is a tad salty). I sold my '14 HD Street Glide to buy this bike. Man, what a night and day difference in riding experience it has been. May sound silly, but this bike is so fun to ride, it literally makes me laugh outload in my helmet while riding. My HD never did that for me...

x2 Indeed PB...hmm, you now have me wondering if your logic applies to three bikes? Won't know until I try I guess...

I would say that Ducati is on the better half of ugly. Congratulations Phadreus! I see the styling of ADV bikes as form following function. Most everything about their styling is derived from purpose for the most part. An acquired taste for sure. Over six months of looking at them, I went from "Oh my god, they're hideous!" to "Mmm, I guess they aren't so bad." to "I think I kinda like 'em, they're so ugly they're kinda beautiful in their own way."

Now, let the mods begin!

I too seemed to have followed a similar path.
Our thinking appears aligned.

Correct number of motorcycles = n + 1
Where n = number of motorcycles currently owned

Good cover there Cormanus.
Otherwise one could have assigned you n = -(∞).
