Anyone know the color code for the 2013 side covers? That being the silver. Im getting my dented tank back and got a body guy who says he can fix it and will paint it to match if I have the color code. If no one knows then ill just get the tank and side covers all painted a diffrent color all together.

Wish I could help; I also have a blemished red tank and want it painted to match the side covers. I will be watching this thread closely.

For the tank the colour code is on a decal, on the frame under the seat. Can't help with the side panels.
Cheers

You can take side covers to a paint supply store and they have a scanner that can scan them and then mix paint to match

Good one. If your going to "rattle can" it then the lid on the can will give you a close match. I don't quite get it. Are you planning to paint both the tank and side covers silver?

I'm not painting mine. Just letting y'all know. That a paint supply auto body type has a scan gun that can scan your stock side covers and then mix up paint to match them to paint the tank with.

Really never heard of such a thing as a scaner like that might have to look into that, and no im just wanting to paint the tank if I can get away with getting it the same color as the covers. If I cant them ill paint the tank and covers a different color than silver.

I'd recommend going with a new silver colour for all the parts. I've had a lot of painting done on my bikes, and I've had a mixed bag of results. Even the best painters can have a tough time perfectly matching the colours of parts. And when they're right up next to each other like a tank and side cover, you're going to notice that. The few extra dollars to have those small little covers painted will be well worth it!
(P.S. And yes, Ridem is not pulling your leg - any good automotive paint and supply shop will have one of those scanners to help match paint when a code number isn't available.

)
