Happy to say, the project CB has been found and the deal made

I will soon be taking Puffnlola's crashed CB off his hands and a friend will be dragging it down to the Sunshine State! As it turns out I have a good buddy who lives a little north of Puff who makes periodic trips to and fro, which will negate having to use a shipper. Also, I have several of the parts needed for the repairs from a CB stash I acquired from another friend that are left over from his taking the cafe route.
Puff was very accommodating and texted me a ton of photos. We talked on the phone today and had a great conversation. You guys know I've been searching for a while, happy the search is over. Thanks to Puff who exemplifies the type of quality folk that are found on this forum. If y'all are interested, I'll keep you up to speed on the project

TTFN!

Moto...keep us up to date on the project...from start to finish. Sounds like a great find and hopefully some good fun too. The only question I have is this... Is this bike going to be 'yours' or are you going to 'Build it Vicariously' through another child??

r4n, considering my other kid has my FZ1, this one will be all daddy's!
Though I do have this proclivity to tire of a project shortly after completion, so we'll just have to see how long I end up keeping it.
I know I was throbbing to build an all Black, but now I am envisioning some sort of wild non oem color scheme. The tank is banged up and needs a little metal work and a re spray. I built a custom GMC Sonoma back in '95 and ordered it in Radar Purple Metallic, a purple that flipped to blue then to a wine red depending on how the light shone on it.
So I'm thinking that, for the headlight bucket, tank, side covers and maybe bobbed fenders, with a white head of Mercury with Honda winged helmet like that 1963 Honda logo under the clear coat instead of the tank emblems. We'll see what happens though....

I have my factory tank sitting in the garage if you want to make me a good offer on it.

Yea, that F is awesome. My older son had a silver one. I like the pics of the late model CB with that paint configuration that are floating around.
