How many of us just got slammed with this winter snow storm that dumped over two feet of snow and left us looking at our rides in our garage instead of being able to ride them. Its going to be a long wait for me to be able to get out again. I guess we were really spoiled this year in the north east. The taste of winter has finally arived and all at once it seems.

I was out this weekend and I've spent several hours today cleaning salt off the spokes.

I was in NYC over Christmas and enjoyed the "semi-tropical" weather, but sure was happy to be home when the storm hit your area.
It barely brushed by our province, but we did get enough to require a small amount of shovelling.

Yes it was nice having the warm weather while it lasted. I bought a snow thrower this past October and I was delighted it was working so well! No cold or snow! Oh well I guess it couldn't last forever. On a positive note the snow blower performed admirably, I cleaned the entire driveway and even our one lane road.

I've had a Craftsman snowblower for over 25 years and it has given great service all these years. Many winters we didn't get enough snow to need it so it just sat in it's warm, dry place ready for service.
It may be old, but I care for it like I do my bikes with lots of TLC so it's stiil in excellent condition for its age.
It's great to have and not need, but not so great if you don't have it and do need it

do you use ACF50 or S100? to prevent corrosion and protect the bike against salt?
i just spend the weekend cleaning the bike, the chain, the (front part) of the engine block and spaying the whole bike with S100, except for the engine block, that will receive special treatment
it has been freezing and raining and the roads were salty...so thats a no go for now, at least the bike is treated for the instance I do come out...

Im laid up until at least Friday ro Saturday. The public roads are clear enough to ride, but the private road I live on just has 5 " of snow mushed into it. Supposed to be over freezing all week and maybe 50 on Saturday so hopefully the snow will melt off the road.

That's put a nasty dent in your excellent riding record for 2016, Ferret. You should get some snow chains for the ST.

Cormanus ..... like Gene Autry " I'm back in the saddle again"!
Missed 7 days in a row due to 2 separate snow events, but two warmer than expected days yesterday and day before got the road open and Woo hoo got in 32 miles this afternoon. 34 degrees but it felt GREAT!
