Has anyone tried the new "Convert" helmet from Scorpion?
It is 3 helmets in 1 and looks pretty interesting.
Only thing I am seeing is it is only in "Flat Black"

Thanks for the info, I have had 4 or 5 Scorpion helmets and I love them. I was hoping this would be my next one.
I normally order online but I guess I will have to find one at a dealer near me and try it on??

You're a braver man than me NorthGeorgiaRider. I would never buy a helmet without trying it on.

Try LidPicker.com. It's affiliated with MotorcycleGear.com. They send you a kit to measure your noggin and you post it up on their site with the access code they send you. Within a couple days you get a detailed report of how each model will fit you, including ideal shapes and sizes.
I bought a Shoei Qwest based on their measurements. It fits perfectly - if a tad bit more snug - but I think the Arai Quantum I had before had gotten a little loose fitting after 8 years.

That has to be the ugliest most ridiculous helmet I have ever seen.
Naturally I bought one yesterday. What can I say I'm a sucker for the underdog.
I don't own or like electronics (no gps, IPOD, IPAD or "I" anything and my cell phone is 10 years old doesn't even have a camera) but I can't help myself when it comes to motorcycle gear. I have so many helmets, gloves, jackets and boots it's not funny. I hadn't expected the local multi-line dealer to have any of these in stock as new/different stuff doesn't always go over big around here. When I saw them after reading this thread I took that as a sign from god and bought one. I got the Ratnik Camo Phantom as they were sold out of the solid black - I would have preferred the black but didn't want to wait for the next shipment.
Only a short ride so far so a full report will have to wait, but initial thoughts:
Fitment - true to size, I take an XL in most helmets and the XL fit me perfectly. It is a bit cramped around the ears (due to the design of being able to downsize into a 3/4) but it wasn't uncomfortable and I have relatively big ears. Time will tell on a long trip.
Construction - feels very solid and seems very well made. The detachable system is easy to use and attaches to the helmet in a positive way.
Noise - I only tried it in the 3/4 mode and it was no noisier than any other 3/4 helmet I have had.
Wind - I was worried that too much wind would bleed into my eyes under the flip down visor in the 3/4 mode, but that was not the case at all. I had the bike up to 140kph and the helmet and visor felt great.
I'll be honest, I think this helmet is pretty cool due to the engineering and design that went into it and it is different looking (which I like) but the only real benefits it would have over a modular helmet is weight and ability to ride over 100kph in the "open" position which is uncomfortable in my KBC FFR.
Having said that - I really like it so far. It seems most on-line retailers are sold out of most sizes so it must be popular.

Thanks for posting this. I read it and ordered the measurement kit- and the Shoei Qwest was also the best fitting option of all the helmets they listed.
I didn't buy it from them though because even with the $15 credit I was still able to get it (much) cheaper elsewhere.
When it arrived, I was amazed at how well it fit- just a nice even pressure all around my head- except the cheek pads on my jaw was a little tight. Shoei makes optional cheek pads in both a size thinner and a size larger so I ordered the thinner ones. Now everything fits perfect. I should have done this years ago.
I also purchased a pinlock visor, and 2 pinlock inserts- a normal clear one and one that is clear at night but darkens when the sun hits it.
And lastly- I ordered a set of the ear pocket foam inserts. I didn't know until I was looking around at various sites- the helmets have empty spots to insert speakers into- but if you are not putting in speakers they make foam pads that fit into the space. They should help a little with wind noise.

Yes I own one. My 3 complaints are the lack of suitable space for my Q1 headset speakers, the visor fogs up very easy at stop lights and the air flow openings aren't really sufficient. With that being said I don't find it heavy at all and will probably wear it 90% of the time with all the pieces even though the chin protection is minimal at best. My wife doesn't care for full face helmets so she wears her without the chin piece. I would have liked it to have been offered in white for the visibility as I like to be seen but can always add some color to it.

I suspect I will wear mine around my small town area in the 3/4 mode, full helmet mode on any longer trips and I doubt very much I will ever take it all the down to 1/2 mode.
I only wear earplugs (no music) so that doesn't bother me, same as the minimal chin bar protection (modular helmets are the same way) but fogging does concern me as I run quite hot and typically fog up any type of goggle. I'll have to put it together and test that part out.
White with black accents? Now what would that look like......

Not something I would wear, but for some strange reason I think it's pretty cool looking.
Is it convert or Covert?
