 What in the world?
#1
Watched this a few times now, and I am still not sure what has happened with this bike. It is as if the axle comes off, but then a split second later, the whole lower forks seem to be gone.

Never seen anything like that before! I watched it a few times too and you see a slight turn of the front wheel to the left then it just snaps off. Unfortunately, the camera is too high to capture the road right at the moment the wheel breaks off. Although, unlikely there would be anything on the ground that would cause that to happen. I wonder what he was thinking as he started to fly up into the air, still mounted on the bike. "Hmmm...this is odd. I'm not getting much feedback from the front end. I might need new tires." Or, "Why haven't I stopped? I grabbed the front brake as HARD as I could!"

I thought at first that the lower forks were gone, but I think they stay in place. It looks like they're shorter as the shocks compress when the bottom of the forks hit the road.

I could be wrong, of course.

"Mmmm," he thought, "I wonder where that wheel came from?"

It appears that when he puts on the front brake, it just rolls the axle off the end of the forks. Like bolts were missing, or not tight.

The picture before you click on the video is not the same bike and rider that is in the actual video, so this has happen to somebody else before, it appears to me like he was trying to slow down before the wheel came off, but I didn't see any wobble or shaking happening, sooooooo?

Judging by the way he was coming down the hill, the rider knew that something was wrong with the bike before things went from bad to worse.
