While I have to bike ripped apart, I just noticed that on the frame gussets at the head tube on the left-hand side there are two holes drilled, on the right-hand side there are three holes and the center one has a nut welded on the back of it as if something should mount onto it but my bike does not have anything mounted there.
So just for fun and conversation does anybody have any ideas?

More guess than direct answer...it might be for different market application. I see this very often on cars.
Manufacture will not run 2 different frame lines if it is a matter of small modifications or holes...etc.
Josh, do not have clear answer for WSS signal yet...but I will deliver, be patient, please.

Just a wild guess here, maybe it's to reinforce the gusset to offset the extra power of your new super hot cams!

I think your guess that it's for a foreign market accessory is a good one.
The only accessories I can think of that are not available in the U.S. are that HISS security system and the Japanese transponder that is used for automatic toll recording (I think it's called an ETC device).

This was interesting. I checked out all the gussets surrounding the neck and they all have un-used holes drilled.
As many segments of manufacturing is blind, to the final product, they receive the specs that include any possible contendency, and build to that spec. These portions of the frame, the support pieces, may have seen use for many models of motorcycles.
Although, it may appear to be less expensive, to build a batch of these support pieces without the holes, it is significantly cheaper to produce a much larger batch, all with the holes than smaller unique batches.

I'll try to remember to have a look as my bike has the HISS.

They may be there for a device to hold the frame steady on the production line.

My 2010 HISS model has 2 holes either side and no nuts.
