Be checking under your gas tank
#1
I straddled up my bike after lunch today only to make a horrific discovery...

There were two hornets hanging out in the spark plug valley and under the tank that I startled. No stings, but I realized this bike makes a GREAT environment for wasps and hornets with all its corners and shaded areas underneath the cool tank.. I have an irrational fear of the things so, I'm ashamed to admit I nearly dumped the bike to get away. Eventually I got on, fired up real quick and sped off. Spring is here, be careful.

I got hit in the face by a yellowjacket once while riding. Unfortunately I had my 3/4 on at the time. Ouch. Lol.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the tip. It may seem unlikely to some, but I can see how critters of various types could find a nice place to hang out in the recesses of the bike.

On another note, is there ANY chance that there is a video of you trying to escape the hornets?

Oh I'm sure there is. Just call the McDonalds/Chevron I stopped at. I was planning to get gas too but feared I might be followed. So I burned back to work with my gas gauge flashing.

hmmm..maybe you can request the security video for "insurance purposes" or something and then post it here. We all promise not to laugh or anything. Angel

I've seen Cormanus smash a sulphur crested cockatoo. Enveloped in a cloud of white feathers and cocky poo. Laughed my head off. Not quite so funny was a near miss I saw him have with an eastern grey kangaroo. I like it when he rides point in animal kingdom. Smile

Cheers

A fellow rider and I were up near Shelburne, Ontario. We were in country rural nowhere on a dirt road. He was riding a Yamaha Maxim 750X (has a cool 20 valve inline 4, and shaft!) when we came to a stop sign in the middle of a wheat field. He went nuts. Apparently a wasp got trapped inside his riding jacket and stung him multiple times. He got it, but he really got it too. Was a bit freaky to watch as I pulled up aside. The important thing was he didn't drop the X.
