Fuel cap vent

I went a ride yesterday When I got home and parked up I could hear a faint hissing first thoughts was tyres but no it was coming from the fuel cap and when opened there was a big whoosh so the vent must be blocked ?
Didn't have time to investigate so will look today.

Anyone else had a similar problem.

At least a couple members have had it happen. So far, it was always a pinched vent line when they put the tank back on.

I bought it on May 1st 2021 with 2 miles on the clock but its a pre reg November 2019 model so its been stood for 17 months in a dealers somewhere. Its could be classed as brand new but without the Honda warranty because it didn't have its first service or yearly service due to only 2 miles on the clock which I'm told voids the warranty due to time.

I doubt the tank has ever been off but after todays ride will see if it happens again and investigate further.
I plan to do the first 500 mile service myself as my local Honda dealer is no more.

Mixagon, I have no idea about UK consumer law, but I’d check out the claim that there’s no warranty. The claim about time sounds like BS to me. If it sat unsold with a dealer, it should have warranty from the day you rode it away.

Okay Mix*. I am thinkin' maybe this is a basic behaviour due to the fuel tank fumes capture via the carbon canister? The ol' pre-2010s Aprilias had this and made some strange moaning/hissing sounds for up to 30 minutes after a ride before gas pressures stabilized. This was particularly true on warm/hot weather days and not cold days. Anyway, just a thought, not sure if it applies here.

Thanks I was thinking its normal as well because today my ride was cancelled but I did slowly lift the fuel cap and a little pressure came out which I put down to fuel expansion due to the warmer weather.
Last night after a ride the hiss and whoosh I thought was air going in maybe was going out ? I'll check it again after my next ride, not to worried as the bike runs normal.

Hi, The service book states this...

The warranty starts at first registration.
The first service is relative to time and mileage and should be carried out at the mileage stipulated in the owner's manual or at the latest 1 year from the date of registration, whichever comes first.

So time voids my warranty, maybe covid played a part in this and the bike was left in a corner in a closed shop ? but I did get a great deal with a £3000 price reduction so I'm still happy and I still got the normal though not so good 3 months shop warranty
