A lot of people waste their money by changing their oil after every chicken, but I change my oil every 6 chickens and have never had a problem. However I always check the level before each chicken and have to top off from time to time.

Sure you do. I'll bet you never change the filter tho! Rolleyes

What about the oil to fry fish? I use a huge pot on a propane burner for fish fries! I bet you could use chicken in that pot also!

No filter needed... But then again I so infrequently fry fish that I change the oil each time.

The trick to fried chicken is the chicken. FRESH not frozen. Best chicken is the chicken which died shortly before hitting the oil.. not days or months. Has to be handled correctly as well. Cleaned and drained of blood and wouldn't hurt at all to have been fed well either. Seasoning is important and the oil has to be plenty hot when you drop the bird in.

One can get almost as good with a rotisserie baker.

mmmmmmmm........that makes me soooo hungry! Who needs to bother plucking the feathers? Finger lickin' good!

My brother had a Siberian Husky that broke into a commercial chicken farm and killed over 100 chickens! She didn't eat them, just killed them. To this day my brother can't eat chicken!

I've been a synthetic guy on all of my vehicles since the early 90's after owning an 87 Corvette for a few years. Back then, Chevrolet announced that all new Corvettes were coming off the line with Mobil 1. I did some research and found that synthetic oil begins to break down at a much higher temperature than 'fossil' oil. Since I live in Florida where heat is a concern, I changed my Corvette over to synthetic at the next oil change. That car had a full digital display... and I noticed an immediate reduction in oil temperature. Probably due to the oils superior lubricating property's. That was enough for me. So ever since then, I use Harley's Syn3 in my HD, Yamalube Synthetic in the KLR, and will switch the CB over to synthetic once fully broken in. I use Mobil 1 in all of my cars and have even gone to a synthetic fluid in my boats lower unit. If I still cut my own grass...I'd use it in my lawn mower. I think it's worth it...especially in hot climates.

Sorry... I don't have any Fried Chicken story's... But my MOM made one hell of a Meatloaf!

Years ago I had a Dodge Caravan. Ran the mileage before and and after switching to synthetic. I figured at the rate I changed oil (about 4K+ intervals) I'd have to see a .5mpg increase to justify the extra cost of synthetic. I got over 1.5mpg increase. Plus there were times when the interval got bumped up because I lost track of miles. My bad.

I restrict my intake of fried chicken so my mileage is not affected too much (as in years per lifetime).

Synthetic Chicken??? Chicken McNuggets. The preferred food of all self respecting 3 year olds.

As to plucking the chicken before frying? Fresh but not THAT fresh.
