Finally went and kicked some tires....
#1
Since my local Honda dealer is out of business and I didnt have anything to do today I made a road trip to look at a CB. I went to Station Park Honda in Louisville and as luck would have it they did not have one. Guy said he sold 3 this month out of the blue. The guy was very nice and told me to head across the river to Indiana at CC Powersports in Clarksville Indiana. Anyway, he gave me a price and told me to look around and kill some time until the other dealer opened. Very laid back place at Station Park.

So I head over to CC powersports and this place is pretty large. Tons of bikes of all sorts. They had one CB stuck way back in the corner and I spotted it. It was the most beautiful bike in the joint bar none. Pictures dont do it justice. Just gorgeous. So I ask to sit on it because I am worried about the height. AT a towering 5'5" I can tip toe on both feet so I can ride this thing. I would need to shave the seat down a tad just for insurance. But now I know for sure I can handle it.

They were a little too high pressure for my tastes and too high but I had to get out of there before I did something stupid like buy it. I saw Honda Hoarders cx500 there and it is mint. They told me about Curt and I said I knew him from this forum.

So after actually seeing it and pouring over every detail I know the CB is for me. Nothing else in the entire building got my blood flowing like this thing does. Now, I just gotta find a bank to rob.

You can get a lower seat from Japan or even have a custom seat made from a few different companies like Corbin.

At least you and your gleaming red getaway bike will look great as you speed off into the sunset.

If the CB is collecting dust on a corner, the dealer will negotiate on the price. Plus its a 2013 and the 2014s are shipping soon.

Ask about their Easy Payment Plan!

+1. If they've parked it away in a corner, obviously they don't think too highly of it.

Turn the tables on them:

Give them a (fair) price, and then tell them you'll take it off their hands today. Put the pressure on them that either they sell to you, or you'll walk out their door forever.

It is a beautiful bike, and it's a joy to ride. With just a farkle or two, it's easy to individualize this bike. I've changed the seat and mirrors, and added the chrome gauge covers, heated grips, and a rear grab bar. Simple changes--but no one else has one like it!! Big Grin

I asked them about the seat from the Japan version and they had no idea what I was talking about. The guy I spoke with didnt know a lot about them but told me that he could tell I had done my homework thanks to reading this forum.

In any event, I can work around the seat and come up with some solution down the road. Its workable and that is what matters. The guy at Station Park in Louisville shot me a good price right off the bat with no hassle and he personally knew a lot about the CB. He told me it would only take him a couple of weeks to get one if I wanted one and to just let him know. That is where I will likely buy one when the time comes. It was 9,249 + tax and that was it. No freight or set up or anything.

I dont even have one but just fell in love with it like a teenage kid. Celebrate

That sounds like a great price to me. I played hardball with 6 different dealers in the Los Angeles area and $11k OTD was the best price I could find.

same thing happened to me, saw the CB1100, and it was the ONLY bike I wanted in the entire store...so I bought it.
