Funny story. When my son turned 19 he wanted to ride. I looked around the garage and picked out a bike for him, that GS 1100. he rode it one year and then one day without asking me he sold it for $1700 and bought a Honda Shadow Spirit with flames and straight pipes. I could have killed him, but it was his and he had every right to sell it, he just didn't realize what he had. later he really regretted it cause he hated the Shadow after he rode it for awhile.

Those GS1100s are absolutely the bees knees -- I love the 8" headlight. We've got to get these bikes together for a vintage Japanese UJM liter bike ride next summer -- I'll bring my CB1100F, and we'll scare up a KZ1000 and a Yamaha XS 11 as well.

Yes Ferret, I just like my CB1100 more than a lot of the bikes that I have owned. Not too heavy and great handing. Perfect for me. And I had those gaiters on in less than 1 hour today also!! they look great! We had some good weather here in North Ga. today. Nov.18th. 2013. Bikes like the CB1100 get rode more than a larger bike. That's just the way it is!! God Bless....
