Its official 2014 CB 1100's for US

I'm with Guth on his observations. If the 2013 was a version of the 2014, I would still choose it over to newer models, just my tastes.

I see where they have made it look a little more like the older bikes that many of us loved. But when I first laid eyes on my '13, I did not have to look any further, I knew I had found my bike. At the time, I was considering a couple of bikes, but the 2013 CB1100 blew me away. I bought it, end of search. I still feel the same way, I love the lines of the bike, it is a blend of many things "CB" over the years, not just a copy of one older model. This is one of the things I like most about this bike.

I can see what others will like better about the 2014, and in some cases there are some improvements, I would love to have that 6th gear, (but I can live with 5 ). I would not want to change the tank, I don't find an additional 20-25 miles range all that mind blowing.

I'm happy they brought back the CB1100, for all of the same reasons that other members of the forum have stated. I also see perhaps more people deciding on the CB1100 because of the new features of 2014.

I have to give Honda some praise for doing all the things i thought the bike needed.
Before buying the honda i was split between the honda and a bonneville.
I had owned many hondas and and a suzuki and new they were well built good running bikes, but was drawn to the look of the classic bonney with spoke wheels and dual pipes mainly.
in the end it came down to the honda dealer let me ride it and the bonneville dealer didnt. Its a longer story but i went with the CB.
i think the improvements are gonna bring the bike more riders than our 13 did.
i plan on keeping mine for a long time, i love pulling into the garage and seein it. im torn as to adding the dual pipes and spokes. Maybe after i have had it longer

I was worried that I might regret buying the 2013 a few weeks ago....I really wanted spoke wheels without paying and arm and a leg aftermarket wise, matching side covers was what was most important to me, If the new deluxe seat will fit mine like I think it will, I will buy it and I will be 99% done and very happy....

The thing that surprises me the most is the decision to exclude the spoked rims from the deluxe model. The spokes were truly in visual alignment with the other changes and I suspect would draw more prospective buyers out to the dealerships.

Probably a cost decision. The Euro and Asia markets are not nearly as price-sensitive as the U.S. market. Manufacturers will often delete a feature on a North American model just to keep the price below some arbitrary number that their marketing department comes up with.

It's more common on niche bikes whose low unit sales make it harder to amortize costs.

Not certain if the engine will be silver as I hope it will be.
I will buy the 2014 anyway,do not mind what color but do like the red.

The person most happy that the bike comes to the USA must be Mr.T.

I do think cost was a factor in choosing the cast wheels over spokes, but havIng tubed tires was a voiced concern from some folks here and I suspect a valid one. I'm cool with no spokes, and suspect the rims and engine will be silver.
I have no doubt Honda refers to this site for feedback as we'll they should. I would have liked white, but understand why they chose the colors they did for us Americans. Red works for me just fine, especially that beautiful red on these. I love all the other changes they made for the new model, and am astonished the bike hasn't been more widely adopted by the U.S.
People here often "like what they know" more than "know what they like." What I love about this bike is it is its own category. No squids, pirates, Long Way Round hopefuls or Hipsters, God bless them all, get it.

Maybe, and this is just a shot in the dark, they think the mag wheels will appeal to younger buyers??? My dealer told me that they sold most of theirs to older guys like me, (probably most of the members of this forum, too), but that a "surprising" number of younger riders are showing interest in the bike.

Perhaps they are trying to appeal to a broader group. I don't know, just a guess.
